Welcome to
Biblical Church Discipline

Psalm 89:14
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.

The Bible describes God in many ways. Two prominent attributes of God are love and holiness. Along with these are justice and truth. In Revelation 15:3, God's ways are said to be "just and true". This website is about love, holiness, justice, and truth.

When you love people, you want them to understand the truth. Sadly, our enemy is "a liar and the father of lies" (John 8:44). Satan loves to keep people in darkness by deceiving them with lies.  As a result, many churches do not practice church discipline. Those churches do not understand the importance of this Scriptural command. Other churches that understand the importance of church discipline, actually practice "elder discipline" rather than "church discipline".  These churches are also not following the Scriptures, but they actually think they are. The Bible is clear about church discipline and how to carry it out.

This website is for those who want to know the truth about Biblical church discipline. This website is in the early stages, but will continue to grow with new articles over time. For now, we provide a basic understanding of the importance and practice of church discipline, along with a few examples of abuse of discipline. These are from my own personal experience. Some of the pages are password protected until they are complete.

This website is created out of a desire for the truth to be known in the matter of church discipline. If practiced wrongly, "discipline" can turn into a hateful act of shunning a believer. If done properly, church discipline can be a means of turning someone from wickedness to a life of godliness.

Whatever you take away from this website, do not miss the most important aspect of this whole discussion, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without Christ, this life is truly meaningless, no matter what you may achieve. To learn more about the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, click the link below.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ

God's Word is the absolute standard of truth, not man's confessions.

The Bible is the Word of God. It ought to be the ultimate authority in any church that claims to be a Christian church. Sadly, men often practically look to  Confessions of Faith over the Bible. Confessions of Faith can have benefits, but never should they be held in higher esteem than the Word of God.
The Word of God

Be a student of the Bible. Compare everything you hear to the Word of God.

Dig deep into the Word of God. Don't settle for what you hear from pastors or Bible preachers as if everything you hear is true. Compare what you hear to the Word of God. The only way to do this is to dig deep into the Word for yourself daily. It is easy to be led astray by well-meaning men who stand behind a pulpit.
Study the Word

Church Discipline must be according to the Word of God, not man's ideas.

Church discipline is a Biblical truth that should be practiced in every New Testament church. Sadly, many churches do not follow the Bible in this regard. Some churches do practice discipline, but not according to the Word of God. Biblical church discipline is done by the church, not simply the elders or pastor.
